Thapelo Sebogodi

Business Role Player, Actor, Company Manager

Thapelo Sebogodi has been working with Performance Role Play Training for a number of years, first as a Production Manager and then as an actor and Business Role Player. After completing the intensive Role Play Training course, he mainly focused on Real Play, but he is also skilled in Forum Theatre and Improvisation. He has worked for the company for the past 3 years. His Role Play included the DukeCE Immersion for Standard Bank C-Suite, and as an actor touring with PRPT through South Africa as Swing and Company Manager for the MassMart Roadshow which went to hundreds of stores countrywide.

He has also worked as a facilitator at the South African State Theatre Community Outreach Programme for 4 years. He received his Diploma in Drama and Film Studies at Tshwane University of Technology.

Beyond Role Play, Thapelo has been acting for the past 9 years, focussing on Theatre and Television. His most recent productions include Itsoseng at the Johannesburg Theatre, Rhoda Miller, Dress to Kill and The Train which he co-produced with South African Theatre Village to play at the National Arts Festival. His Nominations include a Naledi Award Nomination for Best Actor in a Children’s Show (2018). He is also a Writer and Director.

Gontse Ntshegang

Business Role Player, Actor

Gontse Ntshegang is one of the more recent additions to Performance Role Play Training, and successfully completed the required training, under the guidance of Colin Hunter from the UK. She was a wonderful addition to the Standard Bank C-suite Immersion, created for DukeCE, by PRPT.

A Soweto-born Actress, Voice-Over Artist and MC, Miss Ntshegang studied Speech and Drama at the National School of the Arts and proceeded to the University of the Witwatersrand where she graduated, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dramatic Arts.

Gontse’s debut role was Keke on the Etv Soap: Scandal. She has played many characters  in film, television as well as the theatre realm – her most accomplished roles being Keketso on Etv’s Scandal, Elizabeth On Rhythm City  for Etv and Mapule on Muvhango on Sabc 2.

She also starred in many other soapies and dramas such as Zabalaza, Soul City and on The Queen as Jacobeth.

Gontse is an aspiring director and producer.

Siphiwe Sip Nkabinde

Business Role Player, Actor

Siphiwe Sip Nkabinde is a recent addition to Performance Role Play Training, having completed the Role Play Training course for PRPT, by renowned UK facilitator, Colin Hunter. He successfully contributed to the DukeCE Immersion for Standard Bank C-Suite.  Other Corporate theatre work has included: Diageo Leadership Bootcamp and acting and facilitating for a Sun International programme.

Siphiwe is a Zulu traditional soul singer, song-writer, actor, dancer, occasional percussionist, voice artist and a praise singer born in Bergville (Emoyeni), KwaZulu Natal, a province of South Africa. Sip has always strived to be a better version of himself, and attended several workshops to refine his craft and skills. He later studied Applied Drama Techniques with Wits.

His career took off in the musical theatre where he landed himself a various roles in the following productions; Kwela Bafana, iLembe, Madiba African Opera, Exit Exist, Music In The Air, Amandla Cultural Ensemble, Library Lion, Mr Popper’s Penguins and the recent King Kong Musical (A legendary boxer). Sip has also been featured on a local drama series “Ashes to Ashes” Season 2 as supporting character Fez, and has recently been shooting a video series with SILO Art Motion Stills Production as a lead actor. Sip has worked with Bomb Productions on an upcoming Shaka Zulu series promo, as well as with William Kentridge on “Waiting for the Sibyl” at the The Centre For Less Good Idea, exploring, recording and filming sound and movement.

Joel Zuma

Business Role Player, Actor

Joel Zuma is a trained Business Role Player, trained by an acclaimed facilitator trainer, Colin Hunter from the UK, when he was brought to South Africa by Performance Role Play Training. Joel is one of our latest Role Player graduates, showing amazing potential and getting great feedback from clients. He recently worked for PRPT, on the Standard Bank C-suite programme for DukeCE. He has been involved in various other corporate theatre projects with companies like FNB, Chevrolet, Exarro and Kriel Mine.

Born in Pietermaritzburg, Joel acquired a Diploma in Drama Studies at the Durban University of Technology. He started his career as a career guidance and motivational speaker on the Ukhozi FM drive home with the Department of Education. He has played lead roles in Othello, Hamlet, and Ama-Deus. His musical theatre accolades include Far From The Madding Crowd, Shaka Zulu, and Sophiatown. He headlined Under African Skies which toured Holland, Turkey and The Caribbean.

The Durban Theatre Awards nominated him Best Actor in a Musical for Music in the Air, 2015 which he wrote. Naledi Awards nominated him for Best Comedy Performance (The Buddy Holly Show, 2006), Best Newcomer and Best Singer (The Young Ones, 2004) and FNB Vita Awards nominated him Best Supporting Actor (Hamlet, 2003 and Peace in the Valley, 2001).  

He appeared in the movie Finding Lenny and the British series, Mad Dogs. Television performances include Justice for All, Home Affairs and Sokhulu & Partners. He hosted SA’s Got Talent Roadshow with Cadbury, Let’s Fix It and a business CSI television programme, Kaelo Stories of Hope on etv.

Grevon Jacobs

Business Role Player, Actor

Grevon Jacobs is one of the new graduates for Performance Role Play Training, having completed the role play training led by UK facilitator Colin Hunter for PRPT.

Grevon is an actor, spoken word artist and seasoned MC and he has also done several roles on television. These have included as a presenter on the SABC 2 Sports show – Siyadlala, and playing roles in BBC documentary Pan Am movie called “Getting out Alive”, Isibaya, Generations and Ayeye. He is a Media Practice graduate who majored in Public Relations. He worked in the Eventing industry where he completed an extensive list of corporate in-house certificates; Certificate in Effective Speaking & delivering presentations, and SPP2 Insurance. Grevon has gained extensive experience with a broad range of clients including eventing, insurance and tourism.

Grevon is a great pursuer of knowledge having complete many training programs to build his business knowledge. These include: Certificate in Office Support, Certificate for Intermediate Computer Training, Certificate in SPIN (Selling skills), Certificate – Stress management, Certificate Business Acumen, Self-management, Problem Solving & decision making, Team skills, Basic financial acumen and a Certificate in Project Works (Project Management).

Stephanie Baartman

Business Role Player, Actress

Stephanie Baartman joined the Performance Role Play Training team in 2018 when she successfully completed their intense Role Play workshop with London-based BRP expert, Colin Hunter. She was soon assigned to a team of Role Players as a trainee Role Player to do BRP for Kumba Mines with a focus on communication styles, attitudes and behaviours in the workplace. Stephanie has comprehensive experience of Forum Theatre, scripted scenes, improvisation, communication skills, use of feedback and language as well as listening skills. 

Her 4 year experience as a Disability Administrator at Alexander Forbes gives her a broad knowledge of business and understanding of corporate jargon. 

Beyond Role Play, Stephanie has been an actress for 12 years, working in both theatre and television. She has a National Diploma in Speech and Drama and recently received a Nomination for Actress of the Year from the Huisgenoot Tempo Awards.

She most recently appeared as Bibi in the successful South African Soap Opera: Getroud met Rugby for kykNET.
